The Ark is a specialist residential service for adults with a Learning Disability who may have dual diagnoses and associated complex needs.

The service has 7 en-suite bedrooms and provides twenty-four-hour support. The service has multiple communal lounges, kitchen and dining areas and large outside space with a garden area. There is a shared bathroom on the ground floor, as well as a shared bathroom upstairs in addition to the en-suite shower rooms.  The people we support also have access to a quiet communal lounge where they can use the computer or enjoy in-house activities.

All colleagues are NAPPI (Non-Abusive Physical and Psychological Interventions) trained and use the NAPPI red and green scale to maintain positive influence on each person we support, with a view to minimising the level and frequency of challenging behaviour.  The people we support may have spent long periods of time in a hospital setting or may have additional complex needs including sensory impairments and communication difficulties.

The Ark is situated on Wawne Road and is close to a wealth of community facilities.  The people we support can also enjoy the wide range of attractions that Hull has to offer such as The Deep this is the most spectacular aquariums in the world, Streetlife Museum of Transport as well as educational opportunities and leisure facilities. There are excellent transport links with the service being close to a main bus route as well as the A165.
