Prader-Willi Syndrome

The Bridlington service is rated CQC Outstanding and the team specialises in supporting adults with Prader-Willi Syndrome who may have dual diagnoses and associated complex needs.

Individual’s with Prader-Willi Syndrome feel hungry constantly and need an environment where food is monitored and controlled but where choice is promoted as freely as possible.

ivolve Bridlington provides a structured menu which is designed and reviewed by nutritionists and portion sizes are tailored to each individual’s weight. Meals and drinks have set times so each person we support will know when to expect food and drink and the service provides an extensive range of activities to ensure the people we support remain active. The people we support also receive input from a Clinical Psychologist where appropriate.

The service provides a large communal lounge and kitchen diner with access to a large garden area with rabbits and guinea pigs. There are ground floor bedrooms available and a shared bathroom in addition to the ensuite shower rooms. ivolve Bridlington has Wi-Fi throughout and also offers four self-contained apartments enabling the people we support to progress through their care pathway and further develop their independent living skills.

We’re in a residential area with lots of facilities close by including local shops, sporting facilities, and the marina development. We’re also close to the beach and Bridlington Old Town. We do lots of skills development activities to help the people we support to develop through their care pathway and further develop their independent living skills. East Riding College, Bridlington Campus is a short walk away and the people we support are encouraged to take part in the running of the household including budgeting and shopping.

The service has excellent transport links and is just a few minutes’ walk from the railway station and close to major bus routes with links to surrounding areas.
